Summer is a time for adventure, and adventure often leads to love, that's why our July 9th Story Slam is themed "Summer Love!" Tickets for the event can be purchased here. What type of stories are we looking for? Summer Love can be about many things: erotic love, familial love, even love of place. Many people experience their first romantic love during the summer months, think of the classic tune, "Under the Boardwalk," though maybe your first love happened during summer camp or Senior Week. But Summer Love can also be about the gathering of family and friends, perhaps at the grandparents' beach house or at a family's mountain cabin. Sure, those extended family reunions can sometimes be ugly and messy, but they are also filled with great memories. And Summer Love can be about a sense of place. Maybe you have vacationed in one place each summer for as long as you can remember, or perhaps you spent a summer vacation doing charity work - helping rebuild in Haiti, New Orleans or some other place that needed a dash of love. As you can see, there are many opportunities to spin a tale of Summer Love.
Our "Summer Love" Story Slam will take place at Side Bar on Tuesday, July 9. Most folks arrive by 7 to order dinner and the storytelling begins at 8 p.m. We have limited seating so please reserve your seats online by clicking here. Last month's event did sell out.
